In January 2009, the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) was launched as the regulatory body for Complementary Therapies in the UK.
The CNHC has been developed with the help of complementary healthcare practitioners and with support from the Prince's Foundation for Integrated Health. The Department of Health has consistently supported the CNHC throughout its start-up period and is committed to establishing the CNHC as the national voluntary regulator in the complementary healthcare field.
Massage is one of the first professions to be regulated through the CNHC, and through our work with the General Council for Massage Therapies, STO members are recognised by the new regulatory body.
Since the CNHCs' launch, the Department of Health has issued a bulletin to all the CEO's in the NHS, recommending they use only CNHC registered therapists.
If you wish to be part of the CNHC, and work with their 'quality mark', please read the Code of Conduct, and then use the application form below to apply.
